The
ATP Race to Turin has been updated after the 2024 Wimbledon Championships were concluded on Sunday, July 14 with
Carlos Alcaraz sealing the title and after
Jannik Sinner has dominated for most of the season in the race, he has a new rival.
The top spot still belongs to Sinner. In the Quarter-Finals he was dumped out by Daniil Medvedev and with the ATP Race being a rolling one year system, he was able to add 400 points and retained top spot. Carlos Alcaraz though gained 2,000. He displaced Alexander Zverev and now sits at 5,950 compared to 6,200 from Sinner.
Novak Djokovic after spending most of the season out of ATP Race reckoning is finally in there. He made his first final of 2024 which earned him 1,300 points taking his tally to 3,160. He now sits sixth instead of 13th.
Casper Ruud and Daniil Medvedev are in the top five and changed spots. While further down, Taylor Fritz sits ninth and Tommy Paul 10th after superb tournaments. Lorenzo Musetti is another player that gained. He was not even in the top 20 before Wimbledon. However his great run to the semi-finals has now seen him rise to 14th. Andrey Rublev is the only player to fall as he fell down from 8th to 12th.
The ATP Race to the Finals, also known as the Race to Turin, is an annual ranking that determines which eight players qualify for the prestigious Nitto
ATP Finals. As of now, the leading contenders for the 2024 ATP Finals in Turin are determined based on their performance throughout the season, particularly in key tournaments such as Grand Slams and ATP Masters 1000 events.
