Currently ongoing,
Jannik Sinner is facing
Daniil Medvedev in the final of the 2024
Australian Open on Sunday morning with a first Grand Slam champion potentially crowned and also a second-time Grand Slam champion also in the offing in the case of Medvedev.
Andre Agassi was full of praise for both pre final.
The tennis legend Agassi has been spotted around the Australian Open and sat down with a soon to be released episode of The AO Show podcast to run his rule over the final and he lauded praise on Sinner in particular for his ball-striking which he admitted as a big weapon of his own game, he loves to see. As well as discussing his tennis IQ.
For Medvedev, he said that he uses the tools he has expertly and to full effect and that his tennis brain also with his problem solving is also a sight to behold. No guesses though in the initial snippet for who comes out on top so the proof will certainly be in the pudding for who comes out on top this morning in Melbourne.
"I always have a soft spot for just a great ball-striker. There's just something about it, that makes me go ohhh. It was the only piece I had on a tennis court was when I hit a ball dead perfect," said Agassi on The AO Show.
"I watch somebody like Sinner hit the ball and I just go that's got to feel good. I also like the IQ of it all. Watching Medvedev kind of use what he does and the way that he does it. You can see that he is problem-solving constantly and so I always love that."
