Cameron Norrie has a really vivid memory from Barcelona as he faced Rafael Nadal on a tennis court that bears the name of the player he was playing.
Many tennis players have tennis courts named after them but there are not many that actually played on those named after them. Nadal did that at the Barcelona Open playing at Pista Nadal more than once. It comes after he dominated at that event for years (12 trophies). Norrie recalled that memory explaining:
"That was special, obviously, playing him on Pista Rafa Nadal. I think that was maybe the first time or the second time I played him. To play him the first time on clay, to play him here — and the court is named after him — was pretty special and he played too good."
About playing Nadal, he further said:
"Every time I play with Rafa, I always play really well after that. Playing at that level, I think the matches following that always have good results. So I'm missing him. I need to see him back on tour soon."
