Andy Murray suffered another disheartening loss against Tomas Machac at the Open 13 Provence Marseille as his streak of not yet winning a game this season continues in another concerning defeat for the former World No.1. He lost 7-5, 6-4 in favour of Machac, but after recent criticism of him continuing to play, he has vowed to fight once more.
Murray played a lot of Challenger Tour winning titles and gaining confidence last season before Wimbledon in a bid to be seeded and that could be the answer again as he said that the easiest answer would be to walk away. But that he doesn't want to take the easy way out.
While that is the case though, he is open and honest about where his career currently sits and how when he can't win, the confidence just isn't there. But still the love for the game and the training never ceases.
“Maybe I have to play in Challengers," he said post match. “The easiest thing for me would have been to leave my career. But I continue because I love the game, I love training. At the moment, without a doubt, it is not easy to compete. But what is happening now does not affect my career. No series of defeats will change what I achieved when I was fit and with two hips. But when you can't win, you also lose confidence.”
