Despite all of his achievements in the sport and being part of the so-called Big Four,
Andy Murray believes that the attention is firmly on
Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic and that he is a bit of an afterthought.
Murray practiced with Rafael Nadal in a superb moment between two of the sports greats as they embark on another season at the
Brisbane International. The former faces a tough test in his opener as he faces Grigor Dimitrov, Nadal faces a qualifier. But it has all been about the practice for Nadal who the day before also tussled with Dominic Thiem winning 6-3.
"Usually if I'm practicing with him or Novak, yeah, there's a bit of interest. Well, certainly in them. Not so much in me," said Murray.
But despite counting himself out, he gave high praise to Nadal and said it is great to have him back and that he is looking great. Nadal will play his first tennis since the 2023 Australian Open where he lost to Mackenzie McDonald and has since been injured as he aims for one final tennis swansong seemingly in 2024.
it's great to have him back playing. I mean, he's obviously working extremely hard, like always. Always very, very intense practices with him. Yeah, he looked physically good, was playing well."
