Dominic Thiem and Elina Svitolina are the next two finalists at the bett1 Aces after dominant semifinal performances
Although Svitolina didn't play any match on the grass court this year, it didn't show in the match against Sevastova. The Ukrainian started the match with a break and soon led 3-0. However, she lost the lead later and the set reached the tie-break. She succeeded there and got a 7-2 victory in the first set tie-break.
In the second set, she continued with quality performance. She broke her opponent 3-times while Sevatova broke her only once and so Svitolina triumphed 7-6(2), 6-3, and became the first women's finalist at the bett1 Aces.
In the second men's semifinal match, fans in Berlin didn't see a lot of breakpoints. Dominic Thiem had 2 in the first set and successfully converted one to later win the first set 6-3.
However, in the second set, he failed to convert any of the 3 breakpoints he had and so the set reached the tie-break. There, experience prevailed over the youth as the world no. 3 defeated Sinner in the tie-break and won the match 6-3, 7-6(5) to join Matteo Berrettini in the final of the bett1 Aces.
