Stefanos Tsitsipas had himself a day on the
Madrid Open tennis court yesterday as hewent an hour without missing a first serve hitting 39 in a row.
Stefanos Tsitsipas always had a pretty good serve and the Greek relied on it quite heavily at times when his groundstrokes don't do what he needs them to. Madrid famously benefits good servers because the ball flies really quickly due to the altitude. The serve proved quite crucial in the match against Thiem as well, especially down the stretch.
It was working well for him as he posted an incredible stat in the match. He hit 39 consecutive first serves against Thiem which means that he basically didn't miss a first serve for over an hour of playing time. That's something that rarely happens but it happened last night. Quite incredible when you think about it.
