Stefanos Tsitsipas will undergo surgery after withdrawing from the ATP Finals with an elbow injury, it has been revealed on Sunday afternoon.
Tsitsipas arrived in Turin with a persistent foot injury that prevented him playing in Paris but he picked up another injury in the meantime which meant that Cameron Norrie had to step in as an alternate.
But it wasn't feared to threaten his 2022 season, now that will be the case with the Greek visiting the same doctor who treated Novak Djokovic's elbow.
There is now current timeframe as of time of writing for this surgery and how long he will be out for but it is not good news ahead of the 2022 season.
"Today Team Tsitsipas reveal that Stefanos will very likely have to undergo surgery. He was visited by the same doctor who's treated Djokovic's elbow," said reporters on Sky Sport Italia's coverage of the ATP Finals.
