(VIDEO) Alexander Zverev completely forgets his fathers' birthday as Australian Open crowd in rendition of Happy Birthday

Despite his father being with him as his coach, Alexander Zverev seemed to forget that it was his birthday and had to be reminded after he defeated Cameron Norrie at the 2024 Australian Open.

He saw off Norrie to reach the Quarter-Finals in Melbourne in a four hour and nine minutes duel 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (10-3) win. It was his second five setter in Melbourne with his win over Lukas Klein and that also concluded with a 10-point tie-break.

The German then had an embarrassing moment during his on-court interview when asked if it was the perfect birthday gift for Alexander Zverev Sr before he admitted that he forgot and the crowd then joined in singing Happy Birthday to spare the younger Zverev's blushes. "I completely forgot, I'm very very sorry," he told his father.
