Although the Shanghai Masters title is one of the most sought-after trophies on the ATP tour, Carlos Alcaraz was in a light enough mood to entertain the crowd during his practice session in Shanghai.
The Spaniard was captured training alongside coach Juan Carlos Ferrero and brother Alvaro ahead of his third-round clash with Dan Evans. Despite the intense nature of the practice, Alcaraz found a way to incorporate some fun into his training session.
The student-coach duo embraced overhead smashes coming from the other side of the net, as each stood still while the smashes came their way. While Alcaraz attempted to protect the more sensitive parts of his body with his racket, Ferrero proved the be the braver of the two, leaving himself open to be hit. The antics produced a hilarious response from the spectators, who gasped each time the ball came close to hitting the Spanish duo.
Alcaraz would go on to defeat Evans in a thrilling two-set encounter, securing his spot in the round of 16.
