The Men's Draw has been released ahead of the Western & Southern Open which begins on Saturday fully with some big ties set to take place in the tournament's new temporary home of New York.
Usually in Cincinnati, it saw
Daniil Medvedev come through the draw last year to become champion; which saw him on his way to a brilliant run to the final of the US Open. He will face a different task though this year; as he is on a potential collision course with World No.1,
Novak Djokovic.
They are both in the same half of the draw; but have both received byes through to the next round due to their seeding.
Djokovic is set to begin against either Tommy Paul or a Qualifier; while
Daniil Medvedev will face a Qualifier. For the former, the first seeded player he could face is
Felix Auger-Aliassime who takes on Georgian ace
Nikoloz Basilashvili first up.
Second seed
Dominic Thiem has probably been the most active ATP player during lockdown; he will aim utilise that match fitness when he takes on Filip Krajinovic or a qualifier. A tie against
Grigor Dimitrov is a third round possibility.
One of the big ties though sees
Andy Murray face off against
Frances Tiafoe in a tough start to proceedings. If he beats the home hero,
Alexander Zverev awaits in his first competitive action of 2020; barring of course the Battle of the Brits during lockdown.
Other ties to look out for include
Denis Shapovalov against
Marin Cilic,
Milos Raonic v
Sam Querrey; as well as returning
Kevin Anderson taking on
Kyle Edmund.
