Jannik Sinner joined in celebrating Diego Schwartzman on the day of his retirement. The world No. 1 was among those who paid tribute to the South American after his second-round defeat at the Argentina Open, which marked the end of his career.
The former world No. 8 had surprised Nicolás Jarry in the first round of the Argentina Open, securing a thrilling victory in front of his home crowd with a final score of 7-6(10), 4-6, 6-3.
In the second round, however, Schwartzman was unable to produce another upset and was defeated by Spain’s Pedro Martínez, 2-6, 2-6. The Argentine crowd gave a standing ovation to the player who had been the top-ranked Latin American for several years.
'Peque' Schwartzman received messages from several of his long-time rivals. The clay-court specialist was praised by legends such as Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, and this time, three-time Grand Slam champion Jannik Sinner also joined in. “What a career,” Sinner said. “What a person. All the best for a new chapter.”

However, they fell in the second round, losing 4-6, 4-6, marking the end of their only partnershipon Tour.
