Wimbledon dream could still be on for Andy Murray, doesn't require surgery on ankle injury

After many feared the worst following an awfully timed ankle injury at the Miami Open, Andy Murray might be back sooner than expected after it was confirmed that he will not have surgery on his ankle injury suffered last month.
The 36-year-old ruptured ankle ligaments at the Miami Open and this put heed initially to a potential Wimbledon farewell with surgery mooted. However a spokesperson on Monday said that the three-time Grand Slam champion is going well in his rehab and hopes to return to the court soon.
He initially said that he doesn't plan to play much past this Summer with Wimbledon or the Olympics seen as the most likely end point for the former World No.1. While it is not set that he will get his ending, it is a lot more positive than it was last month. He recently signed up for Queen's which many thought was bizarre due to his injury, but it seems there could yet be method to the madness.
"Latest update from Andy is that he is now out of the walking boot and will not be having surgery on his ankle," a spokesperson said.
"His rehab is going well and he is hoping to start hitting again on court soon. As yet he doesn't have a date yet for returning to competition."
