Garbine Muguruza has been unveiled as the new face of Adidas' Moncler campaign despite her continued hiatus from tennis.
The former World No. 1 had a hugely successful tennis career, winning the French Open in 2016 and Wimbledon in 2017. However, she had a string of disappointing results in the latter half of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.
She last competed at the Lyon Open in January, where she lost to Linda Noskova in the first round. After this, she announced that she was taking a break from the sport.
In April, she provided an update, saying that she was enjoying spending time with her friends and family, and therefore she would be extending her hiatus through the clay and grass seasons.
Muguruza stuns during indefinite break
Since then, the 30-year-old has revealed that she has "no intention" of returning to the top levels of the sport, meaning her break has become indefinite.
During this time, the Spanish-Venezuelan player got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Arthur Borges, and was recently awarded the Sports Talent Award at the Women in Sports Awards in Barcelona.
Now, she has been unveiled as the new face of the Moncler campaign by Adidas, who have sponsored the player for several years.
In photos released on social media, Muguruza can be seen modeling some clothes from the collection, including a purple Moncler jacket.
