The Last 16 will finally be set on the ATP side with the Quarter-Final line-up to be confirmed for WTA players as the second week begins at the 2024 Miami Open.

The schedule has been confirmed with our preview looking ahead to the main matches to watch and talking points ahead of Day 7 (Monday 25 March) in Florida.

Swiatek, Alcaraz, Rybakina and Gauff among leading lights involved

On Stadium, it all begins with Alexander Zverev the fourth seed who might be up against it vs the crowd as he faces Christopher Eubanks. The American was in fine form as the crowd carried him over the line of sorts against Dan Evans. He saved a match point miraculously in a tiebreak and went on to win and sent the crowd crazy. He will hope for similar scenes to open up Stadium.

But perhaps one of the matches of the day is first up on Grandstand as Maria Sakkari faces Anna Kalinskaya for a spot in the Quarter-Finals. Sakkari has continued her form on from Indian Wells under new coach David Witt where she immediately made the final, but faces in-form opposition. Reaching the Quarter-FInals of the Australian Open and also the final of Dubai where she ran out of steam after playing from qualifying, Kalinskaya is in a group of players also including Paolini who won that tournament who are moving up the rankings at pace and also the WTA totem pole.

She took down Jelena Ostapenko last round and will have her eyes on yet another big win against Sakkari. Two players who have dealt with issues in poor form and in the case of Kalinskaya injury finally firing on all cylinders.

Continuing with Stadium, it is then Elena Rybakina who said it may take some time to return to her best, she faces a player aiming for a resurgence herself and she has got it so far in Madison Keys who hasn't played most of the year due to injury. But amid a ranking slump as a result, she will hope to take advantage of a not 100% Rybakina yet who once again has suffered with illness as of late.

Some may have expected Gauff v Naomi Osaka in the next clash, but instead it is Caroline Garcia who now moves 2-1 up this year on the former World No.1 after an epic clash. While Gauff won 10 games in a row to defeat Oceane Dodin. She went 4-2 down and could've been 5-2 down fairly easily. Garcia though is more likely to take those chances though and will look to be presented with them.

Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek as the respective top seeds conclude the nights play. The former in a bit of a generational split as he faces one of the best players of the past 20 years and although heading towards his twilight has had similar recent success to his wife Elina Svitolina in Gael Monfils. A real popcorn clash awaits before Swiatek aims to continue her incredible form when she faces tricky operator Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Elsewhere, Alex de Minaur, Grigor Dimitrov and also the matter of the so called Billionaire Bowl as it has been quipped as Emma Navarro faces Jessica Pegula are all on the schedule. As is another entertaining spectacle as Ben Shelton faces Lorenzo Musetti., the latter stages get closer but the top ties don't cease.
