The Champions Tour sees a lot of the big hitters from Tennis' past compete in a series of tournaments over the course of the year and one of them is the Champions Tennis tournament.
Champions Tennis is staged at the Royal Albert Hall over multiple days and acts as the season finale. On Day One it saw Greg Rusedski's team who defeated Tim Henman's team in a clean sweep.
This saw Marcos Baghdatis who only recently retired against David Ferrer who has been off the court for a few years. The recent experience counted it seemed as Baghdatis triumphed in a closely ran 4-3, 4-2 win.
The doubles match saw Tommy Haas and Rusedski come through with ease defeating Henman and Mark Philippoussis 3-4, 4-1, 10-2. in the first doubles match of the tournament.
Haas made it a clean sweep for Rusedski in again a close tussle as he defeated Philippoussis 4-2, 4-3.
The first day came to a close with a second match for Tim Henman's team as they lost to Goran Ivanisevic's team.
Juan Carlos Ferrero eased past Philippoussis in a 4-1, 4-2 win to start proceedings and from there they extend their lead to 2-0 with a victory for Xavier Malisse and team captain Ivanisevic against Tim Henman and David Ferrer 4-1, 4-3.
In the final match, Henman's team got a consolation point as Ferrer defeated Ivanisevic in a 4-1, 4-1 win.
