In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, the stars of the ATP and WTA are preparing for the Rome Open, with Iga Swiatek showing her first training images on the clay courts. Meanwhile, Ons Jabeur responded to a young fan's request to fulfill her dream at the Rome Open. On the other hand, Nicolas Jarry starred in a heartwarming moment with his 3-year-old son during training.

Swiatek Returns to Rome Courts

Iga Swiatek is back in training after her elimination from the Madrid Open. The world No. 2 is preparing for her title defense at the Rome Open after a disappointing loss to Coco Gauff 1-6, 1-6 in the semifinals. It was the 7th consecutive time – and 4th in 2025 – that Swiatek has remained in the semifinals, and she has not reached a final since winning her 4th crown at the French Open 11 months ago.
In any case, the Pole will have a new opportunity to correct her season's course when she competes at the Italian Open, where she has won the title three times (2021, 2022, 2024) and has a remarkable 20-2 record, making it the second WTA 1000 tournament where she has the most wins, only behind Indian Wells.

Osaka wins first trophy on her "worst" surface

Naomi Osaka celebrated the title of the WTA 125 Saint-Malo Challenger, her first trophy on clay courts, after defeating Kaja Juvan in the final 6-1, 7-5. The Japanese player had never reached a final on the surface, but at this stage of her career, she is beginning to show consistency on clay, even if it is in a lower-category tournament. Already in 2024, she was on the verge of eliminating Iga Swiatek at Roland Garros (the eventual champion of her fourth French Open trophy).
After securing the title, Osaka posed happily with her trophy and appeared in some photos with her coach Patrick Mouratoglou, in the first tournament she has won working with the renowned Frenchman, who previously worked with Serena Williams, Simona Halep, Holger Rune, among others. Recently, Rennae Stubbs suggested that if success did not start coming for Osaka, she might part ways with Mouratoglou sooner rather than later.
The Japanese player also shared a reflection on social media after obtaining her first clay court title: “Kinda ironic to win my first trophy back on the surface that I thought was my worst. That’s one of my favorite things about life though, there’s always room to grow and evolve. Thanks to everyone accompanying me on this journey, I know it’s turbulent but it’s also really fun and I’m grateful ❤️”

Jarry's sweet warm-up: Training with son ahead of Rome Open

Nicolas Jarry is calmly enjoying the days leading up to the Rome Open, where he will face a tough challenge with a significant defense of points ahead, which could cause a big drop in his ATP ranking. In a tender video from the Italian Open, the former world No. 16 is seen training with his eldest son Juan ('Juanito'), who is three years old.
The Chilean is defending 600 points this week in Rome, after reaching the final in 2024 – his only Masters 1000 final so far. These points represent more than half of his current ATP ranking points, while the Chilean was recently eliminated in the second round of the Madrid Open, falling out of the top 50 for the first time in two years. If he does not reach at least the quarterfinals, he could drop out of the top 100 by the end of the tournament.

Jabeur responds to fan plea for Rome meet-up

Ons Jabeur responded to a fan's request for her daughter to meet her at the Rome Open. The former world No. 2 replied to the post on social media and invited the tournament organization to make arrangements to meet the fan, who appears in a photo with a sign that reads 'I'm looking for Ons Jabeur.'
In a post published by user Mario Fusco, he asked fans to share the photo so that it would be seen by the Tunisian player. "My daughter will be traveling to Rome to attend the WTA tournament, mostly with the hopes of seeing @Ons_Jabeur, her favorite tennis player," user Mario Fusco posted on his X account. "I never asked this before, but this time dear internet, please do your magic and let them meet."
Jabeur will be looking to improve her results from her recent tournaments at the Rome Open. The 3-time Grand Slam runner-up has only managed one victory in her last five matches, and in Italy, she will be looking to rediscover better results, where she previously reached the final back in 2022 (defeat against Iga Swiatek).

Ruud dedicates Madrid triumph to her feyónce

Casper Ruud achieved the most important title of his career this Sunday after defeating world No. 6 Jack Draper 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. The Norwegian is the new Madrid Open champion and revitalizes an inconsistent season, returning to the top 10 after some weeks. The 3-time Grand Slam runner-up dedicated part of his thanks to his fiancée Maria Gagliana, to whom he got engaged in November 2024 and who traveled to Madrid to support him in the final stages of the tournament. “To my beautiful fiancée Maria, who came yesterday to support… thank you for giving me the last boost to finally get over the finish line,” the new world No. 7 said.

Ronaldo and Edberg witness Ruud's win

Some renowned figures from the sports world were present at the Madrid Open final, including 6-time Grand Slam champion Stefan Edberg, who was in the audience and later at the awards ceremony, presenting the trophy to the champion Casper Ruud. The former world No. 1 was not the only big name in sports who was at the match, as Madrid welcomed none other than Ronaldo Nazario, the legendary Brazilian world champion footballer and idol at Real Madrid.
On the other hand, current Atletico Madrid players Alexander Sorloth and Robin Le Normand were also among those who witnessed Ruud's triumph over Jack Draper 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 from the front rows, securing his first Masters 1000 title.
