In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, Iga Swiatek moves past the disappointment of the Australian Open and looks ahead with a positive mindset. Madison Keys celebrated her ‘early birthday present’ and posed in a fun selfie with a promotional poster of herself after winning her first Grand Slam title.

On the other hand, Stefanos Tsitsipas stole the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week with a Japanese-inspired design, while Diego Schwartzman marked his return to training ahead of his farewell at the Argentina Open.

Swiatek shares optimism after Australian Open defeat

Iga Swiatek shared a thoughtful reflection accompanied by a series of photos following her semifinal elimination at the Australian Open. The 5-time Grand Slam champion had dominated her way through the tournament, dropping only seven games in her previous four matches. However, she encountered an inspired Madison Keys, who ultimately ended her run.

During the match, Swiatek held a double break lead in the third set and even had a match point at 6-5, but Keys prevailed in the tiebreak to secure her spot in the final and eventually claim the title.

Despite the disappointment, Swiatek remains optimistic about her performance in Melbourne and looks ahead to the challenges of the Middle East swing. She faces a critical few months with significant points to defend, including her titles in Doha and Indian Wells, as well as a semifinal appearance in Dubai. The pressure will be on if she hopes to maintain her chase of Aryna Sabalenka in the battle for World No. 1.

“🐨Australia 2025: a great, solid time. More satisfaction, colors, good experiences,” Swiatek posted. “Although of course there is an insufficiency related to the result itself, looking realistically we see and know what a good job we did. Time for the Middle East Swing project - see you soon.”

Diego Schwartzman returns to training ahead of farewell at Argentina Open

Diego Schwartzman has resumed training as he prepares for his farewell appearance at the Argentina Open. The former World No. 8 announced his retirement in 2024, with his final Tour appearances taking place during the qualifying rounds at the French Open and Wimbledon, where he was eliminated in both events. His season concluded at the US Open, where he successfully navigated the qualifiers to play in a Grand Slam main draw for the last time.

The 32-year-old Argentine faced Gael Monfils in a four-set match, marking his final Grand Slam appearance. Since then, Schwartzman has been off the courts, awaiting his farewell event in Buenos Aires, where he plans to bid goodbye in front of his home crowd.

Today, Schwartzman was seen training with his compatriot Francisco Cerúndolo, the current World No. 29 and Argentina’s top-ranked player, who will also participate in the tournament's main draw.

Emma Navarro headlines with fans and ping pong

Emma Navarro shared moments with the Australian Open crowd, playing ping pong with young fans in a promotional video for one of her sponsors, Red Bull. The video shows the American enjoying the energy drink and engaging with fans at the brand’s spot in Melbourne Park.

Navarro had an impressive run at the Australian Open, reaching the quarterfinals with notable wins over players like Ons Jabeur in the third round and Daria Kasatkina in the fourth. However, the American was decisively defeated in the quarterfinals by a dominant Iga Swiatek (1-6, 2-6).

Despite her strong performance, Navarro dropped one spot in the WTA Rankings to No. 9 after Keys clinched the title. She will return to action at the Doha Open, missing out on a chance to be among the top eight seeded players.

Madison Keys celebrates Australian Open title as a ‘perfect early birthday gift’

Madison Keys appeared in an interview celebrating her "early birthday" after claiming the Australian Open title. The American, who defeated two-time defending champion and World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the final, turns 30 on February 17 and was asked if the Australian trophy was an early birthday present.

“I wasn’t planning on it being my early birthday present, but this is a pretty good one to give to myself,” said the World No. 7 regarding her Australian triumph.

When asked about her favourite aspect of tennis, Keys reflected: “You get to learn so much about yourself. It’s constantly changing, and it kind of forces you to also change and adapt. And I think it makes you try to be the best version of yourself.”

Keys will take a couple of weeks off before returning to the courts at the WTA 1000 Doha Open, where she will be the 7th seed in a draw featuring the entire top 10, led by Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff. Keys is currently riding a career-best 12-0 winning streak to start the season.

The American No. 3 shared a selfie on her Instagram stories, smiling next to a promotional poster from her sponsor Nike featuring her right after winning the Australian Open title. Keys stars in a new campaign following her remarkable triumph in Australia, with the tagline: "It doesn’t happen overnight. Until it does."

Tsitsipas makes waves in Paris Fashion Week

Stefanos Tsitsipas joined the events in Paris and shared his outfit for the Y-3 Fall/Winter 2025 Paris Fashion Week on social media. The Greek tennis player appeared in a collaboration between Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas, wearing clothing that blends fashion and functionality under a Japanese and sports-inspired design concept.

The world No. 12 hasn’t had a strong start to the season, suffering an early exit in the first round of the Australian Open against Alex Michelsen, where Tsitsipas squandered a significant opportunity to return to the top 10. The Greek former world No. 3 recently received a wildcard for the Rotterdam Open, where he will be the 6th seed in a draw led by Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev.
