Top players
are gearing up for the
Olympic Games, while their official profiles have been
published on the Paris 2024 official website. The tennis event will take place
from July 27 at the Stade Roland Garros and will feature top ATP and WTA Tour
players, including
Rafael Nadal,
Novak Djokovic,
Carlos Alcaraz,
Iga Swiatek,
Bianca Andreescu, and
Elena Rybakina, among others.
The
official entry list was revealed on July 4, while the mixed doubles will be
announced on July 23, prior to the draws for each event. The competitors'
official profiles include a brief description of the athlete and the events
they will participate in, accompanied by their photo, which has caught
attention on social media.
In the
profile photos, they appear without a background and often from unusual angles
that make them look different. Additionally, the expressions used by several
players and even the camera quality have resulted in curious profile pictures
of the tennis stars, attracting jokes from fans: "I will not coach
you," some fan wrote alongside pictures of
Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal,
Mirra Andreeva, Carlos Alcaraz, Elena Rybakina, among others.
"Welcome
back Olympics pictures," another fan wrote, adding photos of Bianca
Andreescu,
Angelique Kerber,
Jessica Pegula, and Iga Swiatek. On the other
hand, one fan claimed that the only 'full glam' photos are of
Donna Vekic and
Caroline Wozniacki: “ok done
with the olympics pics spam now but why are these two in FULL GLAM while others
look like they haven't slept in years.”
