The son of former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt has become the latest addition to the training program at Rafael Nadal's Academy.
The Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacour, founded by the 22-time Grand Slam champion in 2016, has helped to hone the talents of many a big name in the sport today.
These names include Andy Murray, who frequently uses the training programs to boost his fitness, to world No. 4 Casper Ruud, who has become a force to be reckoned with on clay thanks to his time at the academy.

A new arrival

Now, the academy is welcoming a new arrival in the form of two-time Grand Slam champion Lleyton Hewitt's 14-year-old son Cruz.
The Australian is currently ranked 435th in the ITF junior rankings and has the chance to learn and improve a lot as part of the prestigious training program.
The academy aims to form fully-rounded players by focussing on developing skills, physical fitness, and personal growth. It boasts 26 tennis courts covering hard and clay surfaces, but also has among its facilities a gym, a football field, and even a squash court.
Upon its inauguration ceremony, chief guest Roger Federer praised the academy, saying
"One thing's for sure, I know where I’m going to send my kids if they want to learn tennis. I’m going to send them right here."
Fellow former player Lleyton Hewitt has now done just that. The academy announced the news on social media, writing
"His face is similar to us! And the way he plays tennis... ! Welcome Cruz Hewitt! VAMOS!!"
