The French female number one spoke about patience and positiveness while easing herself back into tennis as the season resumption is nearing.

The last time Kristina Mladenovic was on the court was back in March in Lyon where she lost to Anna-Lena Friedsam. Bouncing back took much longer than she would have hoped as the pandemic happened. Speaking to the official Roland Garros site she said:
“It feels like I haven’t been away. I’ve done what I had to do to stay toned and in shape and I’ve just tried to get my body and shoulder slowly going again. I had my first hits on May 13 at my club, at Lagardère Racing. It was on clay because it’s less stressful on the body."
When asked about how she felt on the court she responded:
“Hitting a tennis ball is like cycling and swimming; you don’t forget it. I just hit for 30 minutes on the first day, though, middle of the racquet, gently, without trying to hit it too hard."
Her goal for this season is to get into great tennis form in time for the Roland Garros which is always a special event for her:
“When you’re a competitor, that’s what you live for. They’re even hoping to have crowds at Roland, which is very motivating."
In the end, she concluded that the two most important things for her and anybody else are to stay positive and patient:
“It’s all about being patient and positive. Those are the two keywords for me right now.”
She didn't say when she will return to play or at which event but she is obviously aiming for the Roland Garros which is still quite far away. Hopefully, she will be ready on time.
