Alcaraz receives year-end No. 1 trophy
Carlos Alcaraz received his year-end World No. 1 trophy this Friday, completing one of his challenges this week at the ATP Finals. So far, it has been a remarkable run for the Spaniard in Turin; he secured consecutive wins against De Miñaur, Fritz, and Musetti and advanced to the tournament semi-finals for the second time in his career, and did so undefeated as the leader of the Jimmy Connors Group.
The 6-time Major champion guaranteed finishing the season atop the rankings for the second time in his career (the first was in 2022) and will look to earn his spot in the tournament final this Saturday when he faces Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. Alcaraz already has 8 titles this season and a total of 70 victories against only 8 defeats. He is seeking to reach the ATP Finals championship match for the first time, having been eliminated in the 2023 semi-finals.
Meanwhile, on social media, the Spaniard shared several photos with his new trophy and the award ceremony where he was honored in Turin this afternoon, before the Bjorn Borg Group singles matches. At the ceremony, the Spaniard shared an emotional greeting with members of his team and family who accompanied him on the court.
Sinner's "bravo" to Alcaraz before stepping onto the court
Once the ceremony concluded, it was time for the matches, with Jannik Sinner headlining the duel immediately following the trophy presentation to Alcaraz. Although the Italian arrived in Turin with the intact hope of claiming the year-end trophy himself, he knew things didn't depend solely on him, and Alcaraz's strong campaign in the Round Robin was enough to secure the Spaniard the No. 1 spot for the season.
Sinner, nevertheless, did not hesitate to greet his rival while heading to Center Court. A video on social media captured Sinner telling him "Bravo" just seconds before stepping onto the court for his own match against Ben Shelton.
The unique ATP Finals gifts that sparked laughter
The tennis players at the ATP Finals received special gifts during their time at the tournament, as shown in a fun video shared by the ATP today. Stars like Jannik Sinner, Ben Shelton, and Alexander Zverev received unique gifts from the organization, all featuring a similar theme: the players' faces.
The video shows them receiving large cushions printed with their faces, personalized towels—with Alex de Miñaur's featuring him alongside his fiancée Katie Boulter—and Taylor Fritz's socks with his face on them. Clothing items, towels, decorations, and cushions were among the presents the ATP stars received, who accepted the unusual gifts from the organization with laughter. The tournament is now preparing for its semi-finals this Saturday between Alcaraz – Auger-Aliassime and Sinner against De Miñaur.
Raducanu celebrates 23rd Birthday
Emma Raducanu shared photos from her 23rd birthday celebration, thanking her friends and fans during the off-season. It seems like not long ago a very young 18-year-old Raducanu dazzled the world with her incredible run at the 2021 US Open, winning the title from qualifying without dropping a set, and leaping to the forefront of world tennis, despite being relatively unknown at the top level until then.
While it has not been easy for Raducanu to maintain her level or establish herself as a competitive player among the best, 2025 finally brought the consistency expected of her, and she finished the season inside the Top 30, securing her presence as a seed at the next Australian Open. The British No. 1 will look to take another step forward in 2026 and contend for the most important titles against the best players in the world, although she has already achieved great results in 2025 that brought her back to being a protagonist on the WTA Tour.
“grateful for my 23 trips & having the best friends/ family. thank you for all the bday love 🤍🧁🌸 @cambiodeterciogroup”
Swiatek destroys opponent in 43-Minute Billie Jean King Cup victory
Iga Swiatek took to social media to thank the Polish public for their support during her latest appearance in the Billie Jean King Cup play-off. The 6-time Major champion is still extending her season, playing alongside Team Poland at home.
On Friday, they debuted, and Swiaetk secured a dominant victory in just 43 minutes against New Zealand's Elyse Tse (World No. 909) with a score of 6-0, 6-1. True to her style, the Pole gave her opponent no opportunities and ended up winning 78% of all points played (85% on her serve and 71% on return). "Thank you very much for your fantastic support in Gorzów Wielkopolski! See you on Sunday? 😇" the World No. 2 wrote.
Kostyuk takes time off to visit Ukraine
Marta Kostyuk shared some photos of her visit back to Ukraine in the middle of the off-season. The World No. 26 played just two tournaments after the US Open—in Beijing and Wuhan—ending the season with two wins and two losses in the Asian swing. The Ukrainian played her last match in early October and has since opted to finish the year and begin thinking about 2026—though there was also some free time to disconnect from the tennis world. She took the opportunity to visit her native Ukraine, where she participated in various events and conversations about sport.
“I came back to Ukraine for a few days, and somehow it turned into a trip full of impact ❤️ Those days were filled with events, conversations, and so many motivated, bright people. One of the stops was @superhumans.center, a place that always reminds me how strong we are as a country and how much heart stands behind every effort. So many moments, so much to take in, all in just a few days. I’ll share more soon, just need a moment to exhale.”
