Elena Rybakina has shared a video of her preparing for the upcoming
US Open while also getting ready to host the Smash Bash event in New York alongside
Petra Kvitova.
World No. 4 Rybakina has a strong record at Grand Slams in general. The 24-year-old is the 2022 Wimbledon champion and made it to the final of the Australian Open earlier this year, where she lost to Aryna Sabalenka 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The Kazakhstani No. 1 has also made it to the quarter-finals of the French Open but is yet to progress past the third round at Flushing Meadows. However, she will be hoping to change that this year, and has shared a video of her preparation ahead of the tournament.
Rybakina video shows player in Slam setting
The video posted on Instagram shows Rybakina walking through the venue, zooming in on various interesting features along the way. These include the player's name displayed on a billboard showing the schedule for the day, as well as various US Open signs.
The video then shows Rybakina walking onto the court, where it focuses on a plaque containing a quote by American tennis legend Billie-Jean King, reading:
"Pressure is a privilege"
Rybakina can then be seen smiling on the court as she practices, before the video zooms out to reveal the stands and the American flag waving in the wind.
Rybakina advertises Smash Bash event
The player also used the video as an opportunity to advertise the Smash Bash event which she is hosting alongside two-time Wimbledon champion Kvitova.
The event is described as a 'celebration of tennis' in the form of a Parisian outdoor street festival and is being held at Perrine Restaurant in New York on Thursday, August 24. Tickets are selling from $146.52 and Rybakina added a link to the Eventbrite in her Instagram bio.
