Qualifying for Wimbledon has been temporarily halted for the time being thanks to the blistering conditions at the Community Sport Centre Roehampton. With an electrical issue also being a problem, it is deemed too hot to play in.
Normally the heat is not the reason for play to be suspended in the UK. Rain is a more common deviance, and has been an issue at tournaments such as Queen's. However, the rain has passed with an intense heat wave striking the UK and playing havoc for the tennis.
There is a heat rule utilises for Grand Slam and other big tournaments which has been implemented at times.
The heat has become so unbearable that the Wimbledon qualifiers have been forced to stop as an electrical issue takes full precedent. The likes of Dan Evans was on court competing for a coveted spot in the third Grand Slam of the year at SW19, but it seems that his and all the others players quest for that prize has to wait a period of time before they go back out into the scorching temperatures.

Temperatures soar as play gets delayed

There will be no play until 12:45 at least with players leaving the court, evacuating to a cool place. The heat has caused problems at other Grand Slam tournaments this year, most notably to Jannik Sinner who struggled in the conditions in both the Australian Opena and French Open, facing the consequences in the latter.
It could play an important factor in this year's tournament. While temperatures may not be exceeding 30 degrees Celsius everyday at the championships, it is set to still be incredibly hot and delays may be inevitable.
That has been the case in qualifying. No matches have yet to have been complete yet with the second round of qualifying commencing today. Players must win three matches to advance into the main draw with 16 spots available for the ATP and WTA singles tournament. Wimbledon will commence from June 29 - July 12 with the whole of the tennis world set to watch the events from SW19.
