The 2021 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is a premier event from the WTA 500 series featuring a strong field and an overall financial commitment of €456,073.
The event which is a rarity being played on clay and indoors will run from April 19th till April 25th. As a WTA 500 event, it will feature a very strong field of players including reigning world number one Ashleigh Barty. Besides her, we will see Simona Halep, Sofia Kenin, Elina Svitolina and defending champion Petra Kvitova.
All of them will be going for that trophy that will bring the winner 470 points along with €55,300. The losing player in the final will get a consolation prize of 305 points and €41,141. The semifinalist will fetch 185 points and € 26,130 with the lower rounds bringing fewer points and prize money.
The event was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic so the de facto defending champion is Peta Kvitova who defeated Anett Kontaveit in the final. This will be the 43rd edition of the prestigious event with probably it's strongest field in a very long time.
