Dominic Thiem lost all matches since returning from a wrist injury and it's left him even more determined to come back to his former level.
A warm and sunny afternoon day in Mallorca altered the career of Dominic Thiem quite a bit. A wrist injury happened during a motion that Thiem has performed thousands of times in his career. It's been about a year since then but he is yet to win a match since then. He played plenty but his consistency suffered a lot and he was never able to produce the needed level.
Recently he spent time in his native Austria working hard on his game and he shared some updates on social media. He wrote:
"Hey guys! It’s been a while! I spent my last days on the one hand,
at Lake Neusiedl and on the other hand on the tennis court. Lake Neusiedl is a great place to recharge and I love the amazing nature."
He further wrote:
"My training sessions have mainly focused on completing an immense
number of tennis strokes daily. Those days were very good for me,
powered the energy and progress in training! Those steps are really important for my process!"
It's a positive development for Thiem who needs to build some confidence before returning to tennis. He clearly lacked it during the losing streak.
