Emma Raducanu is a global superstar at the moment with the tennis world firmly following her every step at the Indian Wells.
The British player will return to action for the first time since winning her maiden grand slam trophy a month ago at the US Open. The victory changed her life forever as she became a superstar both at home in the UK and globally as well. That can be overwhelming for a young person and Tim Henman hopes the noise does not negatively affect her.
He said:
“She hasn’t put a coach in place now and she’ll have plenty of time for that at the end of the year, whenever the competitive tennis year finishes. It probably gives her most of November and all of December to really think about that. That’s important as there’s been so much going on in her world.”
Henman believes having a coach will keep her grounded and present in the moment which are things he deems extremely important. He also shared what his top advice would be:
“My advice to her would certainly be: ‘Don’t worry about what other people think.’ There is always going to be an enormous amount of opinion out there and that’s something she can’t control. If she’s focused on those things which are within her control, she’s going to go on and continue to achieve great things within the sport.”
