Elina Svitolina is into the semi-finals of the ASB Classic in Auckland after a rampant 6-0, 6-3 win over Marie Bouzkova which on paper was a tough task but the Ukrainian made light work of the hurdle.
After Emma Raducanu nearly beat her, doubts were there about this clash but Svitolina as she long has quickly dispelled that.
The first set in particular was utterly incredible from Svitolina restricting her opponent only to four points on her serve all set as she took breaks at 1-0, 4-0 and 6-0 to make an incredible start.
Bouzkova went 3-1 up as she looked potentially likely to reverse the impetus of Svitolina. But a pivotal break to make it 3-3 saw Svitolina head towards taking the tie.
She barely lost a point from there as she took five games in a row to seal the deal. Xiyu Wang awaits next with Coco Gauff potentially in the final who faces Emma Navarro. 20 wins over the last 26 matches and Svitolina continues to roll towards another final in Auckland.
