Fabio Fognini, David Goffin, Kiki Berens and Caroline Wozniacki are the next players that got their first point in Virtual Madrid Open.
As the 2020
Virtual Madrid Open is still experiencing some technical difficulties, the tournament progresses. We have seen another 2 ATP and 2 WTA matches with
Fabio Fognini, David Goffin,
Kiki Bertens and
Caroline Wozniacki earning their first point.
It was already the second match for Fognini at the tournament. In his first virtual appearance,
the Italian lost 0-3 to Stefanos Tsitsipas. Now, Fabio faced
Frances Tiafoe and managed to get his first point with a 4-3 victory.
2019 Madrid Open champion, Kiki Bertens also got her first point at the tournament. The Dutch dominated in a match against
Angelique Kerber and got a 3-0 victory.
Donna Vekic and Eugenie Bouchard started their match, however, they experienced some problems with the connection. And so there was another WTA match coming up as
Kristina Mladenovic faced Caroline Wozniacki.
Despite being already retired, the Danish player won the match 4-2 and showed her experience on the virtual court.
In another ATP match, David Goffin took on
Lucas Pouille. It was not a big deal for the Belgian as he earned his first point. David defeated Lucas 3-1 to secure the lead in Group 4.
