Stefanos Tsitsipas and Caroline Wozniacki booked their spots in quarterfinals of the Virtual Madrid Open with 2nd victory.
The Virtual Madrid Open proves to be a really good event. Late during day 1, we already know a few quarterfinalists.
Sorana Cirstea got couple of victories to book her spot and she was followed by
Caroline Wozniacki in the WTA draw. In the ATP draw, Diego Schwartzman was followed by
Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The Greek showed probably the most dominant performances during the evening. He first defeated Fabio Fognini without losing a game and then he outplayed also
Kei Nishikori in straight games.
After losing to Stefanos, Nishikori met
Frances Tiafoe in the next match. The Japanese used his experience from the match against Stefanos and defeated the American 3-0.
Johanna Konta saw a similar story as Kei. She first lost to Sorana Cirstea 0-3, however, she came back against Victoria Azarenka to get her first victor of the tournament. Konta defeated the Belarusian 4-2.
For Caroline Wozniacki, it has been a perfect evening. The Danish player first outplayed Kristina Mladenovic 4-2. Then, she took on Bianca Andreescu who she outplayed 3-0.
However, the young Canadian then faced Madison Keys. The match reached the tie-break, but in the end it was Andreescu who triumphed in the match to get the first point in the group.
