Coco Gauff will face off against
Naomi Osaka this evening in one of the ties of a bumper 'Wild Wednesday' schedule at the Western & Southern Open which contains a myriad of top ties due to rain.
This includes Osaka's return to court when she will face the American star who has dealt with mental health issues surrounding the French Open withdrawal.
These conversations were heightened this week when Osaka broke down after an aggressive question in a press conference.
Her opponent though has dealt with similar with hype surrounding her from a young age in particular and she wants like Osaka to use her platform for good.
"That's something personally I had to work through and deal with, and I would imagine that other people feel that, too. It's important for us to know that our worth isn't defined by how well we do in our sport," said Gauff.
"For me, when you're writing out your problems. You can kind of figure out what you're feeling. Once you know what the problem is, you can fix it. I'm not the only one in the world who believes in this message, but not many people have the opportunity to reach as many people as I can. I try to be the voice for those who don't have one."
