Britain’s young tennis star Hannah
Klugman has achieved a milestone of surpassing America’s Coco Gauff’s record.
The 14-year-old becomes the youngest
player in history to qualify for an ITF W100 event with her impressive run of
form.
Recently, she broke the record and
became the youngest player to qualify for the US Open Junior quarterfinal.
Klugman has also won the British
national championship U16 and U18 levels, showing her class over and over again.
She has already climbed to number
16 in the ITF junior’s rankings and after qualifying for the recent event, she is
likely to improve her rankings.
Klugman defeated Czech Republic’s Aneta
Laboutkova in the first phase of the qualifying round of the event with a score
of 6-2, 6-1.
Later, she went on to get the
better of Turkey’s Pemra Ozgen in the second qualifying round of the
competition with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
Klugman has already won the first-round
clash of the tournament against Poland’s Gina Feistel in straight sets with a
score of 6-3, 7-5. She is now set to face off against Yuriko Miyazaki in the round of
32 clash on Wednesday.
