Gauff celebrates point win.
Coco Gauff has hit back after recently receiving criticism for a photo shoot she was involved in recently. She took to TikTok to address the response to her Miu Miu's handbag shoot for the new Vivant bag.
Gauff was criticised for her hair and her appearance and in an eight-minute-long video set the record straight on why she did her hair like that to address the haters.
Perhaps it adds fuel to those haters but Gauff has long had to battle criticism and being told how to style herself even was seemingly the final straw.
She added that she avoids slicked back hairstyles to avoid damage and preferred to be natural for this hoot. She wore a red polo shirt, a blue skirt and the bag. However some thought she was unprofessional in the styling of her hair. Gauff returns to action next week in Stuttgart.

Gauff responds to criticism

"I did my everyday hair and makeup because that was personally the point," Gauff said in the eight-minute-long video. "My 4C hair is good enough for a high-fashion brand like Miu Miu to promote one of their newest launches. So if my hair is good enough for that, then yours is good enough to do whatever you need it to do."
"Minimal is beautiful,” she said. "Do what you want to do because people are going to hate on you regardless."
Gauff added, “To all the young Black girls out there who have kinky hair like me, do what you want to do with your hair,” she said. “At the end of the day, people who hate on your appearance and hate on the way that you look have something deeply insecure about themselves. The only reason people comment on people’s looks, especially people who present themselves in their most natural sense, have something deeply wrong with them.”

She spoke last month also about having imposter syndrome and that she doesn't feel like the success that her resume suggests and that sometimes when people say about how good she is that she doesn't think it's her.
"I have to believe that I belong where I am. I think sometimes I can get imposter syndrome," Gauff said while speaking with reporters. "Even when they're saying my accomplishments during the warm up, it doesn't feel like me."
She added, “My coaches have been reminding me, like, 'Remember who you are,' and 'You're a good player,' " she said during a press conference. "They've been putting that into my head. There are moments I believe it and there are moments I don't, so I'm just trying to believe it more."
