The tournament will feature interesting young stars, led by the Philippines' Alexandra Eala, who recently won her first WTA 125 title in Guadalajara a month ago, and the 18-year-old Czech teenager Tereza Valentová—who this week in Osaka reached her second WTA tournament semifinal.

The Guangzhou Open will have several notable names looking to take advantage of the opportunity to earn points at the end of the year, including Alycia Parks, Polina Kudermetova, Yulia Putintseva, and Ajla Tomljanović.
