As the WTA season closes in on climaxing, the WTA 250 Hong Kong Open is one of the last chances players have on the WTA Tour to end their season on a positive note. A plethora of top tennis stars have made the journey to compete in this event, which is being held from 27th October - 2nd November.
With not much tennis left to play in this campaign, many tennis stars have their eyes on the WTA Finals in Riyadh or the start to the 2026 campaign, when tennis goes Down Under. The top 10 will be absence from Hong Kong, with last year's champion Diana Shnaider not returning to defend her title.
World number 11 Belinda Bencic will go into the event as the number one seed, with a duo of Canadians her biggest threat for glory, in the form of f2023 champion Leylah Fernandez and Canadian Open champion Victoria Mboko. Fernandez may go into the event as the favourite after picking up her second title of 2025 in the Japan Open.
American duo Sofia Kenin and McCartney Kessler will provide solid competition, with talented youngsters Maya Joint and Alexandra Eala looking to continue their progress. Last year's runner-up Katie Boulter also returns to Hong Kong, hoping for a positive result to halt her tumble down the rankings.
Other star players amongst the likes of Anna Kalinskaya, Maria Sakkari, and the inform Eva Lys will look to capitalise and collect the last handful of points on offer in 2025.
