Lois Boisson superbly wins Hamburg.
One of the true stars of the 2025 season was Lois Boisson who won a title in Hamburg and also reached the semi-finals of the French Open on debut.
Boisson had her chance to play in the French Open snatched away from her last year as she tore his ACL weeks before the tournament began after being seen as France's top hope in the women's draw.
She went away and returned and ironically was mainly known instead for Harriet Dart calling her out for not wearing deodorant on court. But within months, she had banished the stink of that situation to become one of the most talked about players on the WTA Tour.
She also very much didn't run before she could walk after such a successful run in Paris. She barely played just after in order to recover sufficiently and although she lost in Wimbledon qualifying, she then went on to win Hamburg.

She has not appeared on court though since September in Beijing due to a left quadriceps injury. Ending her season a little over a month ago, the French Number One now has her eyes firmly set on 2026 and a new status that she will have going into Australia.
Gone are the days of needing to qualify for majors, now she is one of the big fishes so to speak who now needs to emerge from the pond. But she is feeling good ahead of the next part of her career and said as per Tennis Actu that she will return in early 2026 with a return to training imminent. She said that she will begin next week in Barcelona and that she will have a month before she leaves for Australia.
"I have recovered well from this injury in Asia. First, I took a few days of rest. Then, I started the preseason. And now, I just had to do a little PRP (platelet-rich plasma injection) in the knee to remove some minor pains, but everything is going very well.
Normally, I will continue the preseason starting from the beginning of next week, in Barcelona. Bring on 2026, clearly! We will continue to prepare well for it, to start the season well. We have one month left here and then we leave for there."
She will also play in the United Cup for the first time in 2026 with Arthur Rinderknech as the former World Number 36 aims for glory in that tournament too as she begins her 2026 season in earnest.
"It will be the first time, in 2026. I'm going there with impatience, because I think I'm going to love this country. And then it will be the first Grand Slam to start the year, so it's great."
