Carlos Alcaraz has many strengths yet in his own words, his greatest strength is being able to push his opponent to a limit which most players don't really like.
Alcaraz is a grand slam champion and the youngest number one ever which is already pretty spectacular. His career will certainly progress even further and he's not shy about discussing his tennis. Talking with media in
Indian Wells Alcaraz spoke about what he believes is his greatest strength:
“Well, I would say the pressure that I put on the opponent in every
shot. Returning, for example, I
push the opponent to a limit, trying to go for it in every shot. I would
say that’s the most dangerous part of my game that I would say the
opponents feel that the pressure in every shot. I move well. I would say I’m fast and reach every ball, or I try.
But the pressure I put in every shot to opponent, I would say that.”
His first match in Indian Wells was a win over Thanasi Kokkinakis, a tricky matchup he handled about as well as you can hope. There were no signs of any injury and he confirmed that he recovered well:
“I recovered really well. It seems today that I moved
really well. I felt really comfortable playing here. Well, more movement
here. So I think I’m ready and totally recovered from the injury.”
