Iga Swiatek has done it again just when it looked like her reign as World No.1 was set to be over and her dominance snapped.
She has retained the World No.1 spot at least for now still maintaining a gap between herself and
Aryna Sabalenka who would've taken top spot due to the points on offer by reaching the final.
But in reality, it was Swiatek's friend
Ons Jabeur that helped her keep it after downing the Belarusian in a comeback win. Similarly, Karolina Muchova ended her hopes in the semi-finals at Roland Garros.
She has held the top spot since last April when Ashleigh Barty retired and has been imperious since then. Ons Jabeur also could take Elena Rybakina's spot as World Number Three.
She sits on 4847 points currently by reaching the final and is now World Number Six but a title would see her not only seal a maiden Grand Slam but put her on 5547 points.
This would be ahead of the 5465 that Rybakina now sits on post
Wimbledon. In terms of
Marketa Vondrousova, she is currently inside the World's top 16 again.
She was as high as 14th and could head into the top 10 with the title.
Elina Svitolina has also gone up a staggering 49 places these past two weeks and sits 27th inside the live rankings meaning she is less likely now to need wildcards or go through qualifying, a very beneficial two weeks indeed.
