Iga Swiatek is the new flag bearer for the WTA since the sudden retirement of
Ashleigh Barty who sat atop the WTA Rankings and imperious until she stepped away.
Ons Jabeur thinks she would've won 20 Grand Slams.
Jabeur sees Swiatek now as being a shining example and Barty as joining the likes of the Williams sisters and the Big Three in event of continuing to play.
Despite that though, the Tunisian trailblazer has lauded the current WTA for its unpredictability with so-called bagel sets (6-0) a norm as well as comebacks and also different winners.
Compared to the ATP with a similar crop of players, every player can win on a given week which Jabeur enjoys.
“The example of Williams sisters, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, & Rafa Nadal is unbelievable. Now Iga Swiatek is setting the example & Ash Barty did it too. If she continued playing she would’ve won 20 Grand Slams," she told The Guardian.
"But I like this new WTA. It’s so competitive you don’t know who is going to win and, honestly, maybe that’s better. Sometimes it’s boring to have the same final all the time."
