Emma Raducanu and other British US Open champions who were victorious at the 2021 edition will be honoured during a ceremony by the LTA named 'Homecoming'.
The win of Emma Raducanu was a historic one for the United Kingdom and British tennis in general. The teenage phenom will be honoured today in a ceremony along with other US Open champions who won trophies at the 2021 edition of the event. Besides Raducanu, Joe Salisbury, Alfie Hewett and Gordon Ried will all be honoured in a ceremony tomorrow.
The event will begin at 12:30 British time (13:30 CET) and it will be broadcasted online on LTA's digital channels including BBC. The reasons for the celebration are simple, these players achieved something spectacular and they will be celebrated accordingly. Raducanu became the first qualifier to ever win a grand slam.
Salisbury became the first Brit to win both doubles events at a Grand Slam while Hewett and Ried became the first men's wheelchair doubles pairing to complete the calendar grand slam. All of them will be celebrated tomorrow by the LTA and tennis fans and you can watch it on LTA's digital channels and the BBC.
