Seeds keep losing at
Roland Garros with the latest one being
Leylah Fernandez who lost against non-seed
Martina Trevisan 2-6 7-6(3) 3-6.
The Canadian player never looked like herself losing the first set 6-2 and her 'Clay-lah' persona wasn't on show today at the
French Open against the recent Rabat winner.
Fernandez battled some foot issues in the event and took a MTO in this match and it helped a little bit. She took an early 3-1 lead but gave it right back. Trevisan served for the match at 5-4 but threw it away in her own mini-choke. Fernandez won the tiebreak 7-3 because Trevisan was simply missing too much. She did not panic and rallied quite well in the final set winning it 6-1.
It was a bad match from Fernandez as most of the time she simply did not know what to do against her opponent. She was slamming balls wide as Trevisan was cleaning lines. It was a poor effort from Fernandez who looked quite lost most of the time.
