While the off season heads towards its conclusion, we will get another taste of tennis action with the return of the Macau Tennis Masters between December 27-28 which happens at a busy time for the last preparation before the new season.
Not only do we get the Macau Tennis Masters but also the World Tennis Continental Cup featuring Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek in Shenzhen. But also the Battle of the Sexes.
Last year saw Karolina Muchova and Andrey Rublev star in Macau in what is a similar line-up to what it was last year in that there are two legends, in this case Conchita Martinez and Li Na who captain teams of two players and there is a captains challenge featuring these two icons each day.
This is followed by matches in respective sides of the draw over the two days and whoever seals the most points is crowned champion. The same goes in Shenzhen albeit that is more Team Europe v Team World. Last year it was held on Christmas Day, this time it is towards the new year with the United Cup and other tournaments

Predictions

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Conchita Martinez' team rising to the fore.
I think Conchita's team will win out simply as the player she coaches is on her team in Mirra Andreeva. She also has Jakub Mensik who is a quality operator. Same goes for Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. All aren't as much doubts as Li Na's team.
Jack Draper may lead them but he has barely played for month and achilles issues took him out of UTS and other exhibitions so he will be intriguing while Alexandra Eala had a standout season and I can't wait for her v Andreeva.
But she is the main redeeming factor in their line-up which otherwise is doubts. A great line-up for an exhibition though heading towards the Australian Open.
