Iga Swiatek is celebrating a major milestone this week as she spends her 100th consecutive week in the Top 10 of the WTA Ranking.
Four-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek first entered the Top 10 in the WTA singles ranking on May 17, 2021, entering at World No. 9. This came after she won her first WTA 1000 title at the Rome Open, where she was utterly dominant in the final against Karolina Pliskova with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
The Polish player then climbed her way up with a hugely successful season in 2022. Following Ashleigh Barty's shock retirement, Swiatek rose to the top spot and became the WTA Tour's 28th World No. 1 on April 4, 2022.

Swiatek still hugely successful despite tougher season in 2023

The 22-year-old came into the 2023 season with the risk of losing a lot of ranking points but has still been impressive, defending her French Open title. However, she ended up dropping to World No. 2 after 75 weeks following disappointment at the US Open.
Swiatek failed to defend her title in New York after she was defeated by Jelena Ostapenko in the Round of 16. As a consequence of this, eventual runner-up Aryna Sabalenka overtook her in the WTA Ranking to become its 29th World No. 1.
Nevertheless, Swiatek still remains one of the top-ranked players on the Tour and has said that she is more focused on winning matches and tournaments than on defending her position.
Now, Swiatek has hit her 100th consecutive week and her 122nd week in total among the Top 10 and it doesn't look like she is going anywhere anytime soon.
Swiatek is set to compete at the WTA 500 Toray Pan Pacific Open this week after withdrawing from the WTA 1000 Cymbiotika Guadalajara Open Akron in Mexico last week, which was won by World No. 6 Maria Sakkari.

Iga Swiatek is starting her 100th consecutive week in the top 10. This will also be her 122nd week in the top 10 in total. At just 22 years old, her accomplishments have already cemented her as a future legend of the sport. Her game is built to last & her mindset is one of…
