It was a fairly even start to the opening set before the injury issues began as Wozniacki broke early but Linette hit back and made it 2-2. Immediately though she dropped her serve as Wozniacki went 3-2 up and bookended another break at 5-2 up to go one away from the set which she sealed on her serve.
After a dominant hold of serve for Wozniacki, Linette decided to call it a day and Wozniacki is now through on her return to Australia.
