The 2021
Ostrava Open will be played next week and an already strong field of play will be bolstered by several notable wild card recipients including Ostapenko and Siniakova.
The WTA 500 event in Ostrava is back next week and the usually very strong event will feature an even stronger list this week. Top seed Karolina Pliskova was forced to withdraw from the event due to a wrist injury but several notable wild card recipients will replace her in the main draw.
Chief among them is
Jelena Ostapenko who is showing good form with a semifinal run at the WTA Luxembourg event this week. Ostapenko is the defending champion of that event showing how good her indoor tennis just is. Another notable player is native
Katerina Siniakova who is showing she is much more than just a very good doubles player with some strong runs recently.
The Czech crowd will be delighted to have one more native player to cheer for. Former top 10 player
Caroline Garcia will also take part in the event and she will look to play some good tennis which she hasn't been doing for a while now. The final wild card spot was assigned to Tereza Martincova who is another native player that will enjoy the support of the home crowd. The event starts on Monday with daily coverage on our page. Don't go far!
