Emma Raducanu heads into the US Open this year as she has since sealing victory at Flushing Meadows just under 12 months ago under major pressure both in a scrutiny and also ranking sense with the points she claimed set to drop off.
Since winning her maiden Grand Slam and dropping Andrew Richardson who helped in her sudden rise at the US Open, she most notably worked with Torben Beltz until April.
But as reported by Daily Mail, a new and familiar coach will be by the side of the Brit and could be a permanent addition if the US Open gleams results. That of the Russian coach, Dmitry Tursunov.
Tursunov, a former player in his own right has coached Elena Vesnina, Aslan Karatsev but has achieved success in recent times with Aryna Sabalenka and Anett Kontaveit with both reaching the top five in the WTA rankings under the tutelage of Tursunov.
The latter he coached until the French Open with Kontaveit having a well documented rise in 2021 and ironically has gone on to add Beltz who was last with Raducanu as her new coach.
Their first assignment will be the Citi Open next week in Washington with Raducanu reportedly working away in Florida keeping a low profile since Wimbledon.
