Czech Republic’s tennis star Karolina Muchova has spoken highly
of her US Open 2023 semifinal opponent America’s Coco Gauff.
The fourth and final Grand Slam of the year is moving towards
its conclusion as only eight remaining players are battling it out to secure
the ultimate glory.
Muchova is set to face Gauff in a mouthwatering last-four
contest on Thursday in New York.
The 27-year-old spoke highly of her opponent ahead of the
match and believes that the young tennis star is strong in all aspects.
“She’s very athletic,” she said. “She never gives up. Runs
for every ball. Doesn’t do many mistakes. So she has kind of all the strokes. So
very, very good player from all the aspects,"
Muchova defeated Romania’s Sorana Cirstea in the quarterfinal
of the mega-event in straight sets with a score of 6-0, 6-3. It will be her
first appearance in the semifinal at the Flashing Medows.
On the other hand, Gauff outclassed Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko
in the last eight in straight sets with a score of 6-0, 6-2. It will be the
first appearance for the Atalanta-born in the last four in New York.

- The main difference for bigger names like Alcaraz, Sinner, Zverez, etc. is that they usually make it to the later stages of tournaments while 99% of the other players win a round or two and then move on to the next tournament.
