Like in Iga Swiatek's initial match,
Laura Siegemund has had to pull double duty today but made it count to reach the
Warsaw Open final.
Siegemund saw off her compatriot,
Tatjana Maria in a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday evening with Iga Swiatek set to face Yanina Wickmayer shortly.
Earlier today, the former saw off Lucrezia Stefanini. In the all-German clash, it was a marathon tie.
Finished off in two hours, 55 minutes. Maria went 4-1 up before being pegged back to 4-4. Maria missed three set points before finally breaking serve in the opening set.
It was a matter of two breaks of serve in the second with Siegemund going 4-3 up and then sealing the set at 6-3 with the second break.
Finally, it was one more with Siegemund claiming it to win the match sweeping the final game and only tasting one break point en route to sealing victory.
