A video of a controversial line call followed by a panic attack for Zhang Shuai which caused her to retire has been the talk of the tennis world over the past 24 hours and the tournament organisers themselves are the latest to release a shameless statement.
Following the incident, the Hungarian Grand Prix organisers have affirmed Amarissa Kiara Toth's innocence who herself was remorseless.
She said she didn't understand why the Chinese ace who has had well documented mental health problems made a fuss and was the one who made the trouble for herself.
"Amarissa did not decide if the ball was good or not. It was the decision of the linesman and then the chair umpire. The Hungarian tennis player first WTA main draw match of her life may not have behaved in every situation, but she did nothing that could be described as a lack of integrity."
"And there is no deflection, no misunderstanding. The Chinese are manipulating the world with manipulative video," wrote the Hungarian authorities.
Magda Linette also shared the statement and said: "This is the worst response by a tournament I have ever seen."
Daria Kasatkina joined the likes of Victoria Azarenka, Caroline Garcia, Ajla Tomljanovic among others to slam the Hungarian's reaction celebrating the win as her opponent went off court after a mental breakdown.
Kasatkina in particular just put a rat emoji in one of the latest responses.
