Emma Raducanu announced that she parted ways with her coach not long ago with the British player arriving in the US alone. Her decision to split with her coach caught many people by surprise but the British player explained that she needed someone with more WTA tour-level experience. Former British number one Tim Henman doesn't think it will be a huge issue:
“Her coaching situation I’m sure will get addressed at the end of the year. She’s got a nice schedule now with three or four tournaments before the end of the year. November and December will be time for her to reflect and plan for the future. In terms of who that coach might be, I’ve got no idea. She needs to sit down and see who is available.”
Raducanu will have a busy schedule for the rest of the year as the Brit committed to play the Kremlin Cup after Indian Wells. Next up will be the Transylvania Open with Linz not far behind. She has a chance to qualify for the WTA Finals if she does well and the expectations will be high after the US Open. That is why Henman believes that a lot of available coaches will be eager to work with Raducanu:
“I’m sure there will be lots of interest in the job. Hopefully, then she can put someone in place to build on the enormous success of the latter part of this year.”
